Doheny PaddleFest was inspired by the success of Another Dam Race (ADR), now celebrating 16 years as one of the Southwest’s premier outrigger canoe races. What started on the Colorado River has grown into a global paddling event, bringing teams from Tahiti, Hawaii, California, Mexico, Italy, and beyond together to compete.

As conversations began about bringing paddle racing back to Doheny State Beach, the vision quickly gained support from local business owners, surfers, and community leaders, including Mike Foster of Killer Dana and Mike Ahumada of REMAX Realty.

Together, Doheny PaddleFest was built to honor the history and culture of Doheny Beach while bringing new energy to the paddling community.
